The sky - Is it like a blanket or more like a coverlet or perhaps even a quilt? The fall cloud cover in the Willamette Valley in Oregon starts on the first day of November and begins to lift finally sometime in March. None of those weeks of winter are as brillant as the winter days like back East. Sometimes an entire month will go by without seeing the sun or even shadows. Everything seems to have a dullness about it.
